Adult Education

Adult Education Gotland works to educate and develop the skills of adults.

Here, all kinds of people meet, with different backgrounds and goals for their studies. What we are passionate about is providing all adults with new opportunities for education and work. Flexibility, accessibility, and individual adaptation are our three guiding principles.

In addition to the three units of adult education, vocational training, basic and upper secondary education including adapted education and Swedish for immigrants, we are also a learning center. We have an administrative unit that supports students, learners, and staff with more practical and digital issues. In total, we are about 90 employees, of which 60 are educators.

Your Responsibilities

As a nurse teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in accordance with applicable governing documents. The assignment includes assessment and grading as well as documentation according to current regulations. In addition to teaching, you will conduct workplace visits within the framework of workplace-based learning (APL) and collaborate with supervisors and organizations within healthcare and social services.

The position also includes teaching within commissioned training. Evening teaching may occur.

You will be part of a team consisting of nurse teachers and coordinators, where collaboration, collegial learning, and joint development of education are a natural part of the assignment.

Who Are You?

You are preferably a qualified and licensed vocational teacher with a focus on healthcare and social services. If you are not a qualified teacher, there is an opportunity to obtain teaching qualifications in connection with the position.

You are educated in the healthcare and social services profession, for example, as a nursing assistant or nurse, and have many years of professional experience from healthcare and social services.

You have a good ability to plan, structure, and document your work. You have good collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.

You are confident in your professional role, clear in your leadership, and have a professional approach. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt based on different needs and conditions.

About the Education and Labor Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute in the Education and Labor Administration to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, cultural schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, as well as the reception and establishment of newly arrived individuals. Together, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
